Company History

Active Enterprises LTD. was likely formed in 1989, the year in which, according to their company information from 1993, the idea for Action 52 was formed. The company, formed by Vince Perri and Raul Gomila was based out of Florida with a headquarters in the Bahamas.

In 1991 Active released their initial videogame title "Action 52" to the market. General information would tell us that based on it's rarity it must not have sold well, but no sales figures exist. In early 1992, Active trademarked several of it's creations such as, Cheetahmen, and Action 52. By 1993, Active had contracted California based company Farsight Technologies (now FarSight Studios) to create Action 52 for the Sega Genesis and SNES as well as Sports 5.

In 1993 Active published their first and only Sega Genesis cartridge, Action 52. It took advantage of the sixteen bit power of the Genesis to provide a significant graphics and sound upgrade to the 1991 NES original. The release of Action 52 for the Super Nintendo likely would have provided a superior game to the Genesis version but it wasn't released, nor was the Action Gamemaster or either version of Sports 5.

By the time 1994 rolled around Active had apparently left the video game market. What happened to Active Enterprises after this is really anyone's guess. What we do know is that they merged with Ivan Koulakovski's company "Voice Technologies" and that Vince Perri left the company a short time afterward.
